Founded in the year 1799 by Dr. Hugh Williamson, Franklin Tennessee was named after Dr.Williamson’s Close friend, and United States founding father Benjamin Franklin.

From Civil war hospitals, to plantations, and even the buildings lining the downtown strip, many were built from the early 1800’s to the early 1900’s. With iconic attractions ranging from ghost tours, and artisanal coffee, to antique shops and boutiques, the downtown Franklin area is home to a blend of unique and interesting places to explore, and rich history.
